A staff member wanted to recognize Mr. Kris Smith "We Care Act". One of Mr. Smith's students was not feeling well and she is non-verbal. Mr. Smith took the time to write to her and & support her form of communication. This act of kindness is displayed to all students regardless of their background, gender, nationality or disabilities. The Middle School Homecoming Dance that was scheduled for Friday, October 6th has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled to coincide with the the Homecoming football game when the new date is determined. Purchased tickets will be honored for new date.

NCEMS is honoring National Hispanic Heritage Month by recognizing different Hispanic-Americans daily in the morning. This morning, 6th grade student Evelin Martinez read the fact over the intercom system.
