Back to School Stipend

The Caddo Parish School Board, on Tuesday, approved a one-time $1,500 stipend for all eligible employees.

The Back-to-School Stipend will be paid on Sept. 12 to all personnel who are currently employed by the district and eligible for benefits on Sept. 1. Employees must also be active on the payment date in order to receive the stipend. The stipend is made possible by better-than-projected local tax revenues.

This stipend will be in addition to the one-time stipend signed into law by Gov. Jeff Landry for teachers and school employees. That legislation provides a one-time stipend of $2,000 for certified staff and $1,000 for support staff.

“Our teachers and staff give so much to our students every day, and we want them to know how much they are appreciated,” said Superintendent Keith Burton. This stipend is one way we can show that we value their hard work and dedication. As we begin a new school year, it’s important that our employees feel supported because they are the ones who make the difference for children across Caddo Parish.”

Board President Jasmine Green said the decision reflects the Board’s continued focus on valuing employees and investing in their work.

“This is a way for us to say thank you. We know our employees are the heart of this district, and this stipend is just one way to show how much we value them,” Green said.

Additionally, the district is actively hiring teachers and support staff for the 2025-2026 school year. New teachers hired by Sept. 1 will be eligible for the Board and state-approved one-time supplements. Interested individuals can view available jobs here.
