We are partnering with the City of Shreveport and the Community Foundation of North Louisiana for an informational meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29 at A.B. Palmer Community Center. CADDO CLASS OF 2023: Congratulations to Jaylen Maurice Pruiett of Captain Shreve High for being awarded The Gates Scholarship! It is a highly selective scholarship for exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. Jaylen serves as Student Council President and has represented Shreve as the State Vice President for the Louisiana Association of Student Councils. Jaylen plans to major in psychology on a pre-medical track with a minor in criminology. #wearecaddo #BIGdreamsstarthere

Tuesday, the Caddo Parish School Board recognized Vivienne Webb of Caddo Magnet High for being honored as a Louisiana Young Hero by Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Teacher of the Year Semifinalist Janet McCrevan of South Highlands Elementary Magnet. CONGRATULATIONS! Keithville Elementary/Middle cyber students participated in the National Cyber Cup! Students competed against more than 40 schools from across the country. Teams placed in the Top 10 and Top 20 in the cybersecurity competition. #wearecaddo #BIGdreamsstarthere

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Congratulations to Vivienne Webb, a junior at Caddo Magnet High for being selected as one of LPB's 2023 Louisiana Young Heroes! The honor is given to an exceptional young person who has excelled in academics and given significantly of themselves through public service. Vivienne is active with the Louisiana Developmental Disability Council's Advocacy Network (LaCAN) as a disability’s rights advocate, is a Be Strong representative for her region, and she herself has autism, anxiety, and epilepsy. Through testimony at the Louisiana Capitol, Vivienne advocated for and helped obtain $2 million in funding for the lowest-funded Human Service Districts.
