CADDO CONGRATULATES: The United States Senate Youth Program announced that James Stratton of C.E. Byrd High will represent Louisiana during the 61st annual USSYP Washington Week in March! James was selected from among the state’s top student leaders to be part of the 104 national student delegation. During the program week, the student delegates will attend meetings and briefings with senators, the president, a justice of the Supreme Court, and leaders of cabinet agencies, among others. On Monday, community members came together to raise over $11,000 to benefit students affected by last week's tornado. Board Member Dottie Bell led the fundraising effort which saw dozens of donors showing their support to provide Christmas gifts for students in need. #wearecaddo

URGENT: Due to severe weather, elementary schools will be dismissing at 12 p.m. today, middle schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m., and high schools at 1 p.m. Buses will run; however, parents are encouraged to pick up their children at school if possible.

District leadership is actively monitoring Tuesday’s weather forecast as we work with the National Weather Service. If there are any modifications needed to schedules for tomorrow, we will update you as soon as a decision is made. Please know such a modification could result in an early dismissal (11:30 a.m. for elementary, 12 p.m. for middle school and 12:30 p.m. for high school) and cancellation of after-school activities if deemed necessary for the safety of students, staff, and families. Additional updates from the National Weather Service are scheduled for Tuesday morning and a decision will be made by mid-morning.
