As we prepare for high school graduations this week, we take a moment to celebrate a former Caddo student for being Commissioned and promoted to Second Lieutenant. Caleb Krikorian graduated from Northwood with the Class of 2018. While in high school, he was Corps Commander serving all JROTC students across the district. He has since been a distinguished military student at Northwestern and will now serve in the National Guard. Congratulations Lt. Krikorian! #BIGDreamsStartHere

Congratulations to Caddo student Megan Crutchfield of the Community Education Life Transition (CELT) program on SUSLA’s campus! Megan received her CELT certificate of completion after several years of great success! The Caddo Schools CELT program is a partnership between our district and Southern University-Shreveport as well as Bossier Parish Community College. The program helps students with disabilities to earn educational opportunities and workforce assistance. Congratulations Megan on your success!

This morning Caddo Parish Magnet High celebrated their newest accolade of becoming a Green Ribbon school! Awarded by the U.S. Department of Education, Magnet is one of 27 schools nationwide to receive this prestigious honor. The recognition award is given to schools that have shown their commitment to reduced environmental impact and costs, improved health and wellness of students and staff, and effective environmental and sustainability education. #WeAreCaddo

WHATASURPRISE! Green Oaks Teacher Mrs. Ragster-Manuel was selected as one of 30 teachers from 14 different states to be named "WhataTeacher" by Whataburger for Teacher Appreciation Week. She will receive $1,000 to improve her DECA organization. Congrats! #WeAreCaddo

Polls close in 1 hour for today's election. Caddo Parish School Board has three millage renewals on the ballot that support the operations of the district including salaries, classroom resources and maintenance of schools. #WeAreCaddo #GeauxVote

Today is Election Day in Caddo Parish! Polls are now open. and will remain open until 8 p.m. The Board has three millage renewals on the ballot. These millages fund critical functions of the district including: * Salaries and benefits for teachers and support staff * Maintenance and upkeep of school buildings * Classroom technology * Curriculum and classroom resources * Maintenance and fuel for the district's bus fleet * ADA compliance projects including restrooms, elevators, etc. * Upgrades of and repairs to heating and air condition of schools and sites #WeAreCaddo #GeauxVote

Tomorrow is Election Day as the Caddo Parish School Board asks voters to decide whether to continue three existing millages used to provide for vital operations of schools. Funding from these millages provides for critical functions of the district including: * Salaries and benefits for teachers and support staff * Maintenance and upkeep of school buildings * Classroom technology * Curriculum and classroom resources * Maintenance and fuel for the district's bus fleet * ADA compliance projects including restrooms, elevators, etc. * Upgrades of and repairs to heating and air condition of schools and sites All three propositions have been on the rolls for over 20 years and are already being paid by the citizens of Caddo Parish. Thus, these are not new taxes but a continuation of current rates. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. #WeAreCaddo #GeauxVote #VotingInformation

TODAY at Broadmoor STEM Academy, Caddo Schools will hire for several open positions from teachers to custodians. This is also your chance to receive information on becoming certified to teach in a classroom. Hiring recruiters will be on site from 4:30 - 6 p.m. #WeAreCaddo
