Tonight marks the last Listening and Learning tour stop at Woodlawn High School at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Please stop by and make your voice heard on the future of Caddo schools!


The challenge is on! Please come by Walmart locations on Bert Kouns, Shreveport-Barksdale Highway, Pines Road, and Mansfield Road, as well as Brookshire's locations on Line Avenue and North Market, Kroger's on Ellerbe Road, Hobby Lobby and Sam's Club near Youree Drive to give to The Salvation Army Shreveport-Bossier and meet our fantastic students and staff! The funds raised this Saturday will go directly back into serving those in need in our community.

The Caddo Parish School Board will host its Executive Committee and Work Session today at 4:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the Central Office. The meeting will be streamed live on the district's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/CaddoParishPublicSchools).

This week, all Caddo schools and sites are closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. We encourage everyone to take this time to relax, recharge and cherish moments with family and friends. Thank you for all you do to make our schools and community so special.


As we enter the holiday break, now is a great time to apply for a magnet seat for the 2025-2026 school year! Applications are accepted at https://magnetapplication.com/. This website also includes helpful information about magnet schools, the testing process, and more.


Caddo Parish Public Schools is officially a ‘B’-rated school district, reaching its highest ranking ever in Louisiana’s accountability system! With a 2.1-point increase in the overall district performance score, Caddo leads as the top-performing large urban school system in the state. This monumental growth includes: 36 schools increasing scores, 9 schools improving by a letter grade, 15 Top Gains schools recognized for exceptional progress, and 9 recognized as Opportunity Honorees, excelling with special education, English learners, and high-poverty students. Congratulations to our students, teachers, support staff, and leaders who made today's results possible!


The wonderful news continues in Caddo Parish as we announce our 2024-2025 Teachers of the Year! Representing Caddo's incredible teachers this year are Saundra Tate, a K-2 autism teacher from Summerfield Elementary, Angela Vinet, an eighth-grade ELA teacher from Caddo Middle Magnet, and Ashley Lawton, a skilled trades and general technology teacher from Caddo Career & Technology Center. These teachers will advance to the state level of competition for consideration to be named the Louisiana Teacher of the Year! Please join us in cheering on these and all of our schools' Teacher of the Year honorees.

It is one of our favorite days of the year! Today, Superintendent Burton announced the 2024-2025 Caddo Parish Students of the Year! Representing our district in advancing to the next round of state competition will be Mary Mack Thornton from Eden Gardens, Anya Trutschl of CMM and Arisha Sultana of Magnet High! Congratulations to all of our schools' Students of the Year and please join us in celebrating this year's winners.
